Spring canvas art project- diy

Spring is in the air, and what better way to add some spring, but by adding spring art to your walls. It is also my favorite time of year, so I want to incorporate it into as many things as possible. When we moved into our apartment, the walls were white and I had no idea what to do with them. Well, I painted some and left some white. One of these white walls is also a hallway wall. Adding pictures to that wall was proving to be quite the challenge.

This is what I went for. What do you think? Do you like it? Isn't it fun and fresh?

Now, I will tell you how you can make one of these yourself. It is a really fun, easy and cheap art project, that you can easily do in half an hour or less. This project is also great if you are not an artsy inclined person, but want to add some inexpensive diy art beauty to your walls.

What will you need?

- three canvases
- acrylic paint
- roller

*key ingredient* - a leftover decorative wall sticker (which you can buy at craft stores, dollar store or home stores)

How to:

1.) You take your three canvases and tape them together.
2.) Apply the decorative wall sticker to it.
3.) Fill roller with paint and go over the canvas. (You will have to be careful, since the stickers do shift sometimes.)

Voila.

Simple, easy, quick and gorgeous. Now you have some beautiful cherry blossoms and spring to add to your home. Isn't it nice? I love it and the little birds are so cute. Remember that you can make this in any colour you want to match your decor or wall colour.  Can you imagine how cute this would look in a nursery? You've got to try it!

  1. Did you paint the canvas black first and then put the decal on and then go over it with a clear arcylic paint?

  2. Hi Melissa,
I first added the decal and then I painted over it with a roller in a black brown color. Hope this helps. Good luck and would love to see how yours turns out, if you end up making one that is.
