A Guest Room- Paint Ideas

A friend of mine showed me a print that he found and just loved. He also asked me to frame it for him, since he has no design ideas and had even trouble finding the right frame. I will show you the final print framed later this week. What print are we talking about, you ask... well, this one.
It is called The Great Wave at Kanagawa, by Katsushika Hokusai. This print was originally created on a Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock printing. Isn't it beautiful?

I also left out the part, that I am housesitting my friend's house. So, since I am a busy body and have no time on my hands, I decided to give his guest room a makeover (yes, you read correctly, I have very little time). I will share a more detailed mood board with you soon, but wanted to share my paint ideas for this. I have been meaning to try Sarah Richardson's Para Paints for a while, and here we go.

After much consideration, I narrowed it down to five colors that I think would match with my print.

I am aiming for Pebble at the moment, but I might change my mind when I get to the store. Stay tuned!

Have a great one!

  1. This is one of the finest in the series of views of Mount Fuji which made Hokusai famous.
