Big Boy, Big Room

As the days go by or fly by, my baby is not a baby anymore and quite a rambunctious and adventurous toddler. He is so big and he thinks he can do it all by himself. Wow, I wasn't quite prepared for that one. He wants to play more and is curious about pretty much everything, from an exciting toy to a simple picture frame that he wants to check out.

The time has come to think about changing a couple of things in his room. We started to move things around and rearrange his room this past weekend and I figured I should pull a mood board to help me see things clearer of how I want things to look and where I want the room to go. He is very much into cars, trucks etc right now, so I figured I would create a moodboard to suit his interests.

This is what I pulled together so far. Nothing is ever set in stone, so we will see.

Gotta run, since my munchkin is trying to open the front door, but I will be back with a list of all the sources a bit later. Please tell me what do you think of this? Do you like it or not so much?

  1. Love it! I use an Expedit in my sons room laid on it's side and it's perfect for his toys in the cubbies and then lego displays on the top "shelf". I've always wanted those PB? bookshelves too and seen lot's done in blogland - maybe on day. The dark curtains look great as well and prefect for blocking out early morning light (or in the Summer when nights are lighter) and you really need munchkin to sleep...

  2. Hi Heather,
I am so glad you like it. We bought an Expedit not long ago, and I don't know what we ever did without one. As for those bookshelves, you could use an Ikea spice rack and put books in there. Thats what I did and he loves it. Thanks for dropping me a line and I am so happy that you like it.

  3. I think it's a great room plan for a little boy. It's a good idea that you've kept the main furniture neutral and not too little boy because then he can grown into them as the room evolves.
