A little makeover

Good afternoon to you all! Hope you all had a great weekend. I was supposed to be writing posts and hanging around here, but last week we were thrown a huge, and I mean huge, curve ball, which left us speechless. We are still trying to recover from the shock. I will share some details as soon as things clear up a bit.

So with that said, here is a little makeover that I almost finished. I have a lot of craft supplies and after having them all over the place and my son getting into some of them, I figured it would be time to put them all into one place. But I also wanted to create a little place where I can sit with my computer and type away. I spent hours looking on kijiji and craigslist and in the end, I decided to buy the Ikea Aneboda wardrobe and give it a makeover.

And here is how it turned out. Still have to add a couple of touches.
What did I add?

  • I first painted the front windows with some white paint and added some gorgeous fabric to the back of the wardrobe

  • I also added some extra shelves for extra storage. Last but not least, I added a pull out shelf which I can pull out and sit at.

As I mentioned above, the project is not completely finished.  I would like to add some O'verlays to the two front panels, I am also looking to add some pretty hardware to the doors. Last on the list is some trim to add to the top and the bottom of the wardrobe to add height and give it a more formal look. What do you think of my new nook?

Have a great week ahead!

  2. What do I think? I think it's an outstanding update of such a utilitarian armoire. Brilliant idea to add the pull out shelf. I didn't know you could buy extras shelves. I will do this to mine, which I use for storing my paint and supplies.

  4. I LOVE it B! Is that fabric in the back? You did a fabulous job! I hope all is well. When I think of curveballs, in my house it means a job transfer or a job loss. Hope all is well. Thinking of you!
