DIY Faux Crocodile Tray

Saturday is here and what better way to spend an afternoon than doing a quick and beautiful diy craft. I have been seeing all kinds of trays lately, but wanted a very simple black and white colour combination. Here are a couple of example.

Genius interior designer Nate Berkus has been showing some amazing and simple diy projects on his new show. This was one of them.

I needed a serving tray/ tray for all the remote controls that go missing in our house. Now they have a home. The good thing about diy crafts is that you can customize them to your needs and desires. You get to pick the shape, size and colours that you want. Not only is it extremely stylish, but it is easy to wipe and clean. So here it is.

What you will need:

- unfinished wooden tray
- acrylic paint
- faux alligator placemat (found at Dollarama for ... wait for it... $1.00)
- glue gun

optional: - wood finish

- I painted the unfinished wooden tray white acrylic paint.
- I cut the faux croc placemat to the dimensions of the tray.
- And then I simply used the glue gun to attach the placemat.

There you go. Wasn't that easy? And not only easy, but cheap. Isn't it gorgeous? Have fun making your own serving tray!

Have a great Saturday!
