Guest Post: The Design pages

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend. We did and I will be sharing some pictures soon. But for now, I have a special treat for you and that is a guest post from the fabulous Carol from The design pages blog. Carol has been one of the first to start following my blog and I thank her for it. She is a treasure and I was so thrilled when she agreed to write a guest post for you my lovely readers. Thank you so much Carol. Enjoy and have a fabulous week!

Hi everyone.  I’m Carol from The Design Pages.  When Beatrice asked me to write a post about black furniture paired with white furniture I jumped at the chance.  I am a huge fan of this colour combo.  When I studied design we were told that all rooms needs some black and I couldn’t agree more but I also think that a black and white combo can be the basis for a really stunning space.
Black and white look fabulous together and allows for a neutral look that can adopt a fun accent colour.

This room plays with the white and black by using each colour on both sides of the room.  This technique helps the room look balanced.  The grey walls also make the black and white stand out.  That single yellow chair looks so incredibly bold in this room.
Although the black chair is traditional it feels more modern when done together with white furniture.

I love the strong colours used with this pairing.

These are some of the images that I love because they show how well black and white furniture work together.  They also highlight how easy the pairing is on its own or working together with colour.
Thanks Beatrice for letting me chime in on your blog today!!

  10. Black & white is such a classic combination - you just can't go wrong mixing black & white furniture :-) My personal preference is to inject some colour into a B&W room, like in the pictures Carol shared. I think B&W looks especially good with turquoise.

Never thought of combining black and white for decor.
The last photo is my favorite -- black and white and some rich blue!
