Good morning! Hope you are all doing well and had a great weekend. For me and for us, it has been an incredibly busy weekend and month, with family visiting from out of town and birthdays. And yes, I have been partying too much and not working enough. I have been working on some new additions for my Etsy store and will share details soon.
On Friday it was my little munchkin's birthday. He turned two. I cannot believe it. What a difference two years makes. So, this past weekend we celebrated his birthday with a Cat in the Hat party theme. We have been reading the Cat in the Hat and loves reading Dr. Seuss books, so he really enjoyed all the decorations around our place.
Here are a couple of pictures from his birthday, but first I would like to share the invitation that my hubby and I made. He wrote it and I put it all together.
Isn't it cute? I printed them and mailed a couple and the rest sent in an email.
But now off to the fun. I wrote on twitter that I was having fun with washi tape and this is the final product. A little flag garland to go with my little munchkin's birthday garland.
And here is the happy birthday garland, I made for him. He loves pointing to the different letters and trying to say them.
I also made these really easy paper mobiles with some of the leftover scrap booking paper. I hung them in the kitchen and around the house.
This was super easy to make and will definitely be making more in the future. It is a very easy diy paper mobile, which required you to cut strips of paper and then sew them together. Easy peasy.
And of course we played some games and at the end of the party had some yummy treats. I bought some red and white fabric from Ikea and made a very simple tablecloth. I am also guilty of making a garland out of paper and being a teacher, believe me it was painful for me to tear the pages out of the book.
And last, but not least, I decided to make his birthday cake. It isn't perfect, but it is ok. I tried using fondant for the first time and I definitely need some practice in using it.
I have been meaning to make some cake pops for a long time, and with some leftover cake, I finally made some. They were delicious.
That sums up my latest adventures. It was a lot of fun and I hope my little munchkin enjoyed his birthday party. Wishing you a great week ahead.

ReplyDeleteI love the invitation, and you did a wonderful job on all the decorations. It's worth all that work to see the look on a little one's face when he sees it all for the first time.
