Hello there

Good morning! We had a great weekend and as much as I would like to say that I have caught up with all the housework and crafts, I cannot. My husband was away last week and so, we spent some quality time together as a family, making crafts, baking and reading lots of books. We did manage to get some Christmas shopping done and we also put up our Christmas tree. Yay!

I was so excited to see it go up. We haven't decorated it yet, but did manage to get the decorations out. I also bought the two that are in the picture above. I stopped by the Bay last week and bought these gorgeous white pine cones and the gold owl I found in a little store near our house. Couldn't help myself. I will post some pictures of the tree soon.

I also managed to make a little Christmas decoration and will share more on that soon. But first, I wanted to share something I learned over the weekend. I wanted to know if I could discover some secrets that designers use to decorate the tree. Well it seems, that there are plenty of hidden secrets and Debbie Travis shares a whole bunch on youtube in collaboration with Canadian Tire, where she sells her home decor line.

One of those facts/secrets is this picture, which says that for every foot of tree, you should use 5 core ornaments, 3 accents and 2 theme.

If you would like to see the whole video with Debbie Travis, I have attached the link here. She has quite a few videos with more advice for us. Hope you like them. Have a great afternoon. B

  2. I love your new ornaments!! We do a live tree so we'll be waiting another week or two but starting to get everything else sorted out. Such a fun time of year, isn't it?
