Snow White

Good afternoon everyone! It has been quite a fun day today. We had our first snow of the season. Yay! My little munchkin and I, went for a little walk and he loved walking in the snow. Not so much touching it. Can't wait to make our first snowman.

In yesterday's post you saw my top two favorite lamps. Aren't they gorgeous?

So, I popped back in here to keep my word and share my new lamp with you. And here is my new lamp. What do you think? I might be tweaking it a bit, but since I promised a picture here it is.

I will be posting more on it tomorrow. I gave this post the title Snow White, before I knew it was going to snow. And now I see how appropriate it ended up being. See you all soon. Have a great day.

Light Love

I have been searching for table lamps for some time now and have found some that caught my eye. I wanted a sleek table lamp with simple lines. There are so many options out there, but I have narrowed it down to two favorites. I have visited stores and online store, and these two are my top two contenders. The only bad thing is that they are somewhat pricey and I better start saving up for them.

Here is contender number 1. I have been eyeing this baby at West Elm for quite a while. I love the lines of it. And that gloss makes them fab-u-lous.

West Elm
And here we have contender number 2. I have been seeing this lamp in so many design books and online. It is a gorgeous, simple and elegant table lamp. If there was no budget this would be my lamp. My gorgeous reading lamp, where I would catch up on all my favorite blogs. If only. How much is this baby? Well, according to a currency converter (this table lamp comes from Sweden) is $350 CAD.

This post is also a little intro/ hint to tomorrow's post. I still have to go to the fabric store to finish my project. Stay tuned and have a great day! B

Weekend Lighting Adventures

Good morning everyone! In yesterday's post, I wrote that I was going to share some of my weekend adventures and fun with you. Well, here is a little peek. Last week, I shared a mood board I put together, since our little munchkin is growing up. Remember this?

So, I have been on the lookout for the Knappa light fixture for quite a while now. It took me a while to decide what light fixture to put in his room, and finally I decided that this one was going to be it. At the one Ikea store, they were discontinued and the other Ikea store was expecting to get some soon. I was a little worried that they were going to be discontinued at this Ikea store too, but guess what? They got them in last week. Yay!

I raced to Ikea and picked up the new lighting fixture for my little munchkin's room. It looks so much better than before. I am so surprised at how much it changes the room. I love it.
You can see my canvas artwork in the background. I definitely have to change the pictures above his crib. That will take a while, since I can't decide on what to do.
I took these pictures this morning, so I apologize for the bad quality. I was hoping that they would be better, but the lighting in our apartment is really crappy. Since, we are working on his room a little at a time, I will be sharing bits and pieces as we go along.  Have a good day everyone!

New Week, New Lighting

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend and were lucky enough to have some sunny skies. We were half lucky and got a gorgeous Saturday, but rainy Sunday. I am not a fan of the rain, but we tried to make the best of it with a fun trip to one of my favorite places, Ikea. I will share more details about that trip soon.

One thing, I realized yesterday was that I did not share some of my kitchen updates with you. I had shared the new paint color with you here and a couple of lighting ideas here. What I forgot to share was the new lighting that did go up. And yes, it ended up being a diy project like I thought. So, here it is.

Here is a close up.

It is a coffee filter light pendant. I lost count of how many hours it took me to finish it, after 5. I just did a little bit at a time, each night after my little munchkin went to bed. I am so thrilled with it and I have gotten so many compliments for it.

I first saw it on the blog Made by Girl, who had come across it on the blog Parlour. It is truly a beautiful light pendant and you can head over to Parlour and read all the instructions on how to make your own here. Here is a picture of hers.
Jen from Made by Girl, also pointed out that a very similar looking pendant is featured on the cover of Sixx Design's Downtown Chic and it is quite costly. Mine didn't cost much at all and I am beyond thrilled with it. You should give it a shot.
With the rainy weather, I also managed to start a couple of projects and finish a couple more. One has to do with a canvas I bought, the others with some fabric and yarn. Can't wait to share them with you.

Wishing you a great week ahead!
