Good morning everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend and were lucky enough to have some sunny skies. We were half lucky and got a gorgeous Saturday, but rainy Sunday. I am not a fan of the rain, but we tried to make the best of it with a fun trip to one of my favorite places, Ikea. I will share more details about that trip soon.
One thing, I realized yesterday was that I did not share some of my kitchen updates with you. I had shared the new paint color with you here and a couple of lighting ideas here. What I forgot to share was the new lighting that did go up. And yes, it ended up being a diy project like I thought. So, here it is.
Here is a close up.
It is a coffee filter light pendant. I lost count of how many hours it took me to finish it, after 5. I just did a little bit at a time, each night after my little munchkin went to bed. I am so thrilled with it and I have gotten so many compliments for it.
I first saw it on the blog Made by Girl, who had come across it on the blog
Parlour. It is truly a beautiful light pendant and you can head over to Parlour and read all the instructions on how to make your own
here. Here is a picture of hers.
Jen from Made by Girl, also pointed out that a very similar looking pendant is featured on the cover of Sixx Design's
Downtown Chic and it is quite costly. Mine didn't cost much at all and I am beyond thrilled with it. You should give it a shot.
With the rainy weather, I also managed to start a couple of projects and finish a couple more. One has to do with a canvas I bought, the others with some fabric and yarn. Can't wait to share them with you.
Wishing you a great week ahead!
